Income Tax Due Dates*

*Due to the COVID-19 Delcaration of National Emergency, the deadline for taxes has automatically been extended to July 15th, 2020.
Income Tax Returns for Individuals (Form 1040)

Federal income tax returns are due April 15th, 20XX. If a 6-month extension is filed by April 15th, 20XX, then the income tax return will be due October 15th, 20XX.

 

Indiana income tax returns are due April 15th, 20XX for individuals. After an extension, the due date is November 15th, 20XX.

Estimated Income Tax Payments

For individuals who must make quarterly estimated payments, the due dates for the 20XX tax year are:

 

          April 15th, 20XX

          June 15th, 20XX

          September 15th, 20XX

          January 15th, 20XX

Income Tax Returns for Partnerships (Form 1065)

Partnership income tax returns are due April 15th, 20XX. A 5 month extension may be filed, extending the due date to September 15th, 20XX. 

 

Beginning with tax year 2016, Partnership tax returns will be due March 15th for businesses that use the calendar year. For businesses that use a fiscal year, the tax return due date will be the 15th day of the 3rd month following the close of the fiscal year.   

Income Tax Returns for S-Corporations (Form 1120-S)

S-Corporation income tax returns are due March 15th, 20XX. A 6 month extension may be filed, extending the due date to September 15th, 20XX.

 

For businesses that use a fiscal year, the tax return due date is the 15th day of the 3rd month following the close of the fiscal year.

Income Tax Returns for C-Corporations (Form 1120)

C-Corporation income tax returns are due March 15th, 20XX. For businesses that use a fiscal year, instead of the calendar year, the tax return due date is the 15th day of the 3rd month following the close of the fiscal year.

 

Beginning with tax year 2016, C-Corporation tax returns will be due on the 15th day of the 4th month following the close of the fiscal year. (April 15th for businesses that use a calendar year)
